I propose that we are allowed to designate 1 player each MLB season (during our resign/release period) that has surpassed their rookie limits the prior season to remain eligible to have a 0 contract for the up coming season and be allowed on rookie roster.
The reason I am proposing this rule is because in the MLB rookies tend to get called up randomly throughout the season and could lose their rookie eligibility without even making any impact. This rule allows us to be able to get a little better look at the player before cutting ties with a highly ranked prospect.
*EDIT* - This rule would go into effect this season and is only for MLB. This tag would be only 1 use per team per season and can not be traded. the player on the tag can be traded though

If this passes, when would we want to implement it? For this upcoming season or the next?

Works for me. And is this something that we can trade or is it strictly one and done for each team?

Sorry yeah kinda put it together kind of quickly. I think it should be 1 tag per person no trading the tag. Can trade player

This rule is awesome I am in another league that has it and works great. The other league uses it in all three sports and I think it helps a lot with NBA also because the rookie limits are so small we were dropping guys like Bam and OG that are now going for several contracts in season free agency so the slow developers don’t get dropped right out of the gate.

@dallas, I definitely think that we could evolve and put this into all sports potentially but i thought we could at least give it a go with MLB to start

New rule passes. Will be added to the constitution and will be in affect this upcoming year.
